The Unitarian Church of Barnstable
is a Welcoming Congregation, fully open to the needs
and concerns of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered
persons. The church was awarded the designation of Welcoming
Congregation by the Unitarian Universalist Association
following a vote by the congregation in February 2000.
Through our Welcoming Congregation Committee, we work
with and support local gay and lesbian organizations,
participate in Gay Pride events, and support local AIDS
ministries. The Welcoming Congregation Committee also
periodically plans and conducts Sunday worship services
to keep this important topic visible to the entire congregation.
