Taking Care of the People Who Care for Us

Our Annual Stewardship Campaign is underway. This year it's all about taking care of the people who care for us. As Dr. Harper’s sermon title for Stewardship Sunday “Ministry is all that we do together” suggests, making a financial commitment to UCB is an important part of our shared ministry. Your financial commitment will allow us to budget salaries appropriate to take care of those who care for us, our Minister and church staff.

You might wonder why making a Pledge of financial support to UCB is so important. Unlike many religious denominations, Unitarian Universalist congregations are independent and entirely self-sustaining. We, the Unitarian Church of Barnstable, rely on the financial support of our congregation to pay our staff, maintain our historic building and offer all our programs. This church belongs to each of us. As members and friends, we pledge to fund the daily operations and to ensure that the church and its resources are here for us and for others, now and in the future.

We know that many of you are experiencing the heartbreak of lost income. All of us are experiencing uncertainty and anxiety. We hope the value of your church home - and the critical need for UCB to continue operations - will allow you to make a pledge according to your means.

We have gone digital this year and shortened the stewardship campaign period. All you have to do is send an email to our Treasurer, Dan Ewing or call him at 781-801-2311 with your pledge amount.

Please consider how you value UCB in your own life and pledge what you can.  If you would prefer to receive a letter with a pledge card, just let Dan know and we’ll mail one out to you.
