“I welcome you to join this vibrant, intergenerational community.
~ Reverend Dr. Kristen Harper

We acknowledge that the building that this congregation occupies rests upon the unceded ancestral territory of the Wampanoag peoples who have lived and been sustained in this area for over 12,000 years.
The building that is the spiritual home to the Unitarian Church of Barnstable (UCB) actually consists of three buildings: a sanctuary, parish hall and office wing. Also on the property is The Old Schoolhouse building, the side lawn and a large parking lot to the east.
The sanctuary building is the oldest section dating from 1907. It is the successor of several church buildings occupied by the congregation since its founding in 1639. The church was the focus of an historic preservation effort ending in 2024, is well maintained and houses a forward-focused spiritual community.
In the spring of 2026, UCB was awarded the Charles Eliot Award from Preservation Massachusetts. Many thanks to the church members who were involved in guiding the capital campaign and to those involved directly in the preservation effort.
From Sandwich and West of Barnstable Village
Drive east on Route 6A, passing through Barnstable Village to the traffic light. The church is just past the traffic light on the north (left) side of 6A. The parking lot is just past the church.
From Dennis and East of Barnstable Village via 6A
Drive west on Route 6A through Cummaquid. Shortly after crossing Commerce Lane on the right you will see the church on your right. Turn in to the parking lot on your right before you reach the church.
On Mid-Cape Highway/Route 6 from the West
Take Exit 6, Route 132. As you come down this exit ramp, you will pass the tourist information ramp on the right, pass the 2nd exit on the left that says Barnstable, and curve around right to turn right on to Route 132 (Iyannough Road) toward Hyannis. Drive 1.2 miles to the second light. Turn left on to Phinneys Lane. Phinneys Lane turns into Hyannis Road after about a mile. Stay on Hyannis Road until it dead ends into Main Street at a stop light. Turn right at the light on to Main. You will see the Unitarian Church of Barnstable immediately on your left. The parking area is the SECOND DRIVEWAY on your left, slightly past the church.
